Suggested itinerary
Day 1: Hammamet - Gafsa - Chebika - Tamerza - Tozeur
Departure towards southern Tunisia. Travel through Gafsa, ancient Capsa, linked to the Capsian culture. Continue to Chebika and Tamerza. Overnight in the Tamerza or Tozeur region, with possible thermal treatments depending on availability.
Day 2: Tamerza - Chebika - Mides - Tozeur
After breakfast, depart by 4×4 through the rocky desert landscapes of the Saharan Atlas. Visit the mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Mides, known for canyons, waterfalls and film scenery. Late afternoon arrival in Tozeur, capital of Bled el Jerid. Visit the historic centre, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Tozeur - Chott el Jerid - Douz - Sabria
Visit the palm museum, also known as the garden of paradise, in the Tozeur palm grove, then depart towards Douz across Chott el Jerid. Arrival in Douz, gateway to the desert. Visit the historic centre and discover the daily life of the Mrazig tribes. Optional camel ride available. Overnight in a hotel or camp in the Sabria region according to final confirmation.
Day 4: Douz - Ksar Ghilane - Matmata
Departure towards Ksar Ghilane, a southern Tunisian oasis known for its hot spring. Free time for bathing or visit according to local conditions. In the afternoon, drive to Matmata to visit the Berber village, a troglodyte house and the lunar landscape linked to Star Wars. Dinner and overnight in the Matmata area.
Day 5: Matmata - Gabes - El Jem - Hammamet
After breakfast, depart to Gabes and visit the spice market. Continue to El Jem to visit the famous Roman amphitheatre of ancient Thysdrus and the archaeological site. Return to Hammamet in the late afternoon.
