Itinerary
Day 1: Tunis – Kairouan – Chebika – Tozeur

Depart from Tunis for Kairouan to discover its Islamic heritage, including the Great Mosque of Uqba and the mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi, traditionally associated with a companion of the Prophet Muhammad. Explore the medina and its historic markets. Continue towards Gafsa for a lunch stop, then visit the mountain oasis of Chebika. Travel on to Tozeur for a walk through the old town. Check in to a 4-star hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Tozeur – Chott el Jerid – Douz

After breakfast, cross Chott el Jerid, the vast salt lake where mirages sometimes appear on the horizon. Continue to Douz, known as the gateway to the Sahara, and check in to a 4-star hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon. Optional activities, at extra cost, include a camel ride among the dunes, a 4×4 desert excursion or a quad-bike outing. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. As an optional alternative, request a night in a premium desert tent with electricity, air conditioning and a toilet; availability and any supplement will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 3: Douz – Matmata – Mahres – El Djem – Hammamet

After breakfast, travel to Matmata to visit a traditional troglodyte home and meet a local family. Discover how these underground dwellings provide shelter from the region’s temperature extremes, then visit a Star Wars filming location used for the Lars homestead. Continue via Mahres towards El Djem for a lunch stop and a visit to its impressive Roman amphitheatre. Finish the tour with a transfer to Hammamet.
