Day 1
Day1: Tunis airport – Hammamet (Iberostar Belisaire) Transfer to Hotel Iberostar Belisaire 4* in Hammamet, after hotel check-in the rest of the day/evening is at your leisure. Explore the area, seafront, shops, bars and restaurants or visit the nearby Medina.
Day 2
Day2: Hammamet – Sousse – El Jem – Matmata (Diar El Barbar) Morning start In Sousse Medina, a UNESCO world heritage site. A guided walking tour of its major monuments. Departure to El Djem (ancient Thysdrus) to visit the largest and most spectacular Roman amphitheatres in North Africa and the best preserved in the world. This colossal edifice classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which seems to rise out of nowhere, was designed with seating for 30, 000 people. In the small archaeological museum, see the gorgeous collection of mosaics. Continues to Matmata a Berber village of Star Wars notoriety, but more importantly the area with the most extensive number of traditional troglodyte pit homes. The landscape is barren and marked with fissures, crags and small tabletop mountains. Here you will visit a Troglodyte dwelling and hotel Sidi dris, nicknamed the Star Wars hotel. Accommodation in Hotel Diar El barber 4*, dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Day3: Matmata – Douz (Campement Goldenyasmin Zaafrane) After breakfast, departure to Douz, known as the “Gateway to the Desert’, a typical desert village, a maze of sand-coloured homes, narrow streets, a central marketplace and palm-filled oases. Here you have the opportunity (optional $) to have a camel ride passing through deserted landscape and picturesque sand dunes to reach your tented camp in the Sahara, Dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Day4: Douz – Chott El Jerid – Tozeur – Chebika – Tamerza – Tozeur (El Mouradi Tozeur) After Breakfast, we continue our journey across the Chott el Jerid, the great Salt Lake, the barrier between the Sahara and fertile North. If we are lucky, we may see some mirages on the horizon, To town of Tozeur. Depart in 4X4 vehicles in a discovery tour to the mountain oases, where many of the scenes of “The English Patient were filmed. You’ll drive west into some of the country’s most spectacular mountain scenery, visit the mountain oasis of Tamerza, along with Chebika, In ancient days the village of Heike was called Ad speculum after the Roman troops who communicated by mirror. These villages continue with the old tiered oasis-style of cultivation of crops – vegetables are grown under pomegranate and orange trees which in turn are grown under date palms. Departure to Tozeur, Check in hotel El Mouradi Toz optional, payable locally Star. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5
Day5: Tozeur – Gafsa – Kairouan – Hammamet (Iberostar Belisaire) After breakfast, Departure to Kairouan, the spiritual capital of Tunisia and the fourth holiest capital of the Islamic world after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem, visit of the great Mosk and Kairouan Medina. Departure to Hammamet. Accommodation in hotel Iberostar Belisaire4*.
Day 6
Day6: Hammamet – Airport Departure to airport and Check out.
