Tunisia Horizon Day 0: Arrival Arrival to Tunis airport, meeting and greeting. Transfer to the hotel Tunisia Palace in Tunis Medina.

Day 1

Day 1: GUIDED WALKING TOUR OF TUNIS MEDINA – TUNISIA National museum The architecture without architects was a phrase first used in 1965 by an architect (Rudovsky) to describe the Medina (Islamic town) They are unique to North Africa, a Medina is the Historical centre of the city. After breakfast, we will visit one of the greatest and wealthiest cities in the Islamic world. a prototype among the best conserved in the Islamic world. This walking tour will include visits to the Zitouna Mosque, the Kasbah Mosque, the Youssef Dey Mosque, Bab Jedid Gate, Bab Bhar Gate, the Souq el-Attarine, the Dar el-Bey, Souqs ech-Chaouachia, the Tourbet (family cemetery) el Bey, noble houses such as Dar Hussein, Dar Ben Abdallah, Dar Lasram, the Medrasa Es- Slimanya and El-Mouradia, the El Attarine military barracks. we will have lunch in a fish restaurant in tunis downtown. afternoon visit to the beylical palace and Tunisia national museum in the north west suburb of the capital. . Return to hotel. dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Day 2: GUIDED WALKING TOUR IN CARTHAGE   Breakfast and on to the legendary city of Carthage to see the remains of one of the great civilisations in the ancient Mediterranean. will start our walking tour of the city in birsa hill and its where Carthage was first founded by the Phoenician princess Dido. we will see there the remains of Hanibal quarter, the museum of Carthage, the Roman Villas, the Roman baths, the Punic Port and the TOPHET of Carthage. lunch is in the nearby fishing village of la goulette. fish restaurant. . return to hotel. free time to get ready for an evening meal in one of the best gastronomic restaurants in a reconverted Arab Noble House in Tunis Medina.

Day 3

Day 3: BULLA REGEA – THUGGA – EL KEF   This morning we depart Tunis for the northwest part of the country, taking scenic, rural roads, with our first main destination being Bulla Regia. This well-preserved site has numerous examples of underground architecture, as well as well-preserved mosaics, in situ. From Bulla Regia, well drive north southeast to Dougga. Dougga is Tunisia’s largest Roman site. Covering some sixty acres, Dougga was known as the city of temples and its existence is thought to date back to the 4th century B. C. We will have ample time to walk among the ruins, which are expansive and amidst beautiful rural scenery. Following our visit to Dougga, we head west to the small, rural town of El Kef for an overnight stay at the converted farm villa Dar Chennoufi. Authentic and delicious home made dinner will be prepared by Raoudha Chennoufi and possibility to follow the preparation of the meal. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Day 4: JOUGAR FARM- ZAGHOUAN- SIDI BOU SAID   After breakfast, we visit the town and its museum of local art and traditions. then we follow our trip south east toward Jougar where we will be welcomed in an eco-friendly farm. Authentic bio lunch followed by a guided tour of the farm during which we will visit a local Olive press and learn about the mechanism of the traditional olive press and procedure of olive oil extraction. Local cheese and honey. we will depart then to the Andalusian village of zaghouan. where Mrs Fatima will introduce us her own village we will be welcomed in a local Andalusian family. we will assist in a private house to the destillation of the water of Orange and Dog roses and the preparation of the local pastry commonly known as – kaak warka -. Depart to Sidi Bou Said for an overnight stay in Dar Said.

Day 5

Day 5: NABEUL-   After breakfast, we will visit a Traditional pottery workshop and get illustrated about the old technique practiced here of pottery and ceramic making. This is a very old tradition in nabeul since the town is known for this art introduced here by the first phoenicians setters and evolved through thanks to the contribution of later civilisations. after our visit we will follow our tour in the countryside of the cap bon peninsulla this time to interact with the autochtones of north africa, the Berbers! so we will visit a bedouin Berber weekly market. a unique experience to see the locals in the souk buyingwhat they need from pottery to silver, food and animals. afterward we continues to a Berber village, like most Berber villages in the north of Tunisia set on a cliff very high in a rocky mountain. we will take a walking tour in the village of Takrouna where we will have the opportunity to visit the Berber in their houses. lunch will be in a Douar. the term in north africa refers to a quarter where people wh have a blood link leaves together. we will have the opportunity to assist to the preparation of Berber bread in a clay oven. and learn the way Berber prepare couscous what ingredient the rely on and method of cooking. After lunch we will depart to Grombalia, the capital of wine in Tunisia. we will visit a traditional winery and learn about the local procedure of vinification with the possiblity at the end to purchase wine. Evening soiree: The great sound & light show that traces the 3000 years of history of Tunisia on a scenic area of 2 hectares played by a hundred players supported by the most sophisticated technique light and sound effects: giant projection dynamic images, cinema projection on water screen, laser illuminated fountains, lavish sets. The show is preceded by a typical tunisiian dinner accompanied with belly dancing and folchlore music.

Day 6

Day 6: After breakfast, we will go to the tip of the Cap bon peninsula where we will take a boat trip to visit island of zembra. You will experience fishing in the Mediterranean with expert fisherman; the scenery is fantastic. . lunch based on fish. return to Tunis for a visit of the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said. at sunset and overnight in the Dar fatma or Dar said hotel in Sidi Bou Said.

Day 7

Day 7: Day off at your own Leisure. possibility of a hammam experience or to visit the zoological park or to go golfing or horse and pony riding.

Day 8

Day 8: This morning you will be transferred to the airport in Tunis for your departure flight.
